What it does, and what it does not.
A short link is easy to build and hard to trust. These are the parts that decide whether a link still works next year and whether its numbers survive a conversation with a client.
Links that keep working
A link that stops resolving costs more than a subscription ever saved. Nothing about billing is allowed to break one.
- Billing never breaks a link
- Running out of quota, letting a subscription lapse, or moving to a smaller plan all block new link creation. Existing links keep redirecting. This is written into the terms of service, not only into the marketing.
- Your own domain
- One custom domain on Pro, ten on Business. Ownership is proved with a TXT record and the certificate is issued automatically on the first request. A domain you own stays yours whatever happens to uhm.co.
- The destination stays editable
- Redirects are 302 with no-store, so changing where a link points takes effect immediately. A permanent redirect would sit cached in a visitor's browser and ignore the change.
- Pause and expiry
- A link can be switched off temporarily and switched back on, or given a date after which it stops resolving.
Numbers you can defend
Analytics tools disagree with each other. What matters is being able to explain the gap rather than insisting your number is the right one.
- Counted at the redirect
- Clicks are counted in the redirect itself, not by a script on the destination page. Ad blockers, tracking protection and slow connections cannot undercount what never depended on the page loading.
- Every filtered click is reported, with its reason
- Known crawler, link prefetch, no user agent. The dashboard shows what was excluded and why, rather than quietly presenting a smaller number.
- No session window
- Repeat visits from the same person are not folded into one session. Two clicks a minute apart are two clicks.
- Raw export
- On Pro and above, every recorded click downloads as CSV, one row each: timestamp, device, browser, referrer, bot flag and reason. Never the IP hash.
The link itself
The everyday parts, without a plan required for the ones that should not need one.
- Custom short names
- Choose the text after the slash instead of taking a generated one. Included from Pro.
- QR codes
- Available on every plan, including free. Pro and above set the colours, the corner style and the logo mark. A QR scan is counted separately from a direct click, so print and digital do not blur together.
- Password protection
- A link can require a password before it redirects. Included from Pro.
- Preview before following
- Adding + to the end of any short link shows where it goes without going there. It works for anyone, not only the person who made the link.
Privacy that is specific
Most privacy pages describe an intention. These are the mechanics, and they are the same ones the code implements.
- No raw IP address is stored
- Visitor addresses are hashed with SHA-256 and a salt that rotates daily. The salt lives only in the cache layer, never in the database, and is discarded after about two days, so the same visitor cannot be correlated across days and no stored salt could reverse a hash.
- Retention is set by the plan
- Per-click detail is kept 30 days on free, 12 months on Pro, 3 years on Business. Day-by-day totals are kept indefinitely, so upgrading later does not erase the history already collected.
- Two cookies
- A language preference and a sign-in session. No advertising cookies, no third-party analytics, no cross-site tracking.
Turkish and English, equally
Both languages are built in rather than translated on afterwards.
- Every surface
- The dashboard, the transactional emails and the billing documents are all written in both languages.
- Addresses too
- Turkish pages have Turkish addresses: /tr/fiyatlandirma rather than /tr/pricing. Search engines index the language people actually type.
Not built yet
Published here because a feature that is not live should not be described as though it were. These are on the roadmap and none of them exist today.
- A public API
- Bulk import and export of links
- Team members on one workspace
- Link-in-bio pages
- Sending visitors to different destinations by country or device
Free plan, 10 links a month, no card required.
