Terms of service
Last updated: July 25, 2026
Who we are
uhm.co is operated by Halit Software Inc., a corporation incorporated in British Columbia, Canada. Use of uhm.co constitutes acceptance of these terms. Where the service is used on behalf of a company, the person accepting confirms they have authority to bind that company.
What we provide
uhm.co turns a long URL into a short one and redirects visitors who follow it, with click analytics and a QR code for each link. A short link, once created, is intended to keep redirecting. The narrow exceptions are set out under "Links keep working" below.
Accounts and workspaces
An account is required to create a link. Anonymous link creation is not offered, because an unauthenticated creation path leaves nobody accountable for what is created. Links belong to a workspace rather than to an individual. In a team workspace, the owner is responsible for who has access and what is created there.
Acceptable use
uhm.co must not be used to link to phishing pages, malware, spam, or content that is illegal where it is hosted or where it is directed. Destinations are scanned automatically, and reports from the public are acted on; see the abuse report page. A link found to violate this may be blocked, and a workspace with a pattern of violations may be suspended from creating new links.
Links keep working
An existing short link keeps redirecting even after a subscription lapses, a plan is downgraded, or the usage quota for the period runs out. Those situations block the creation of new links only; they never break a link that already works. The one thing that stops a link from redirecting is a confirmed abuse takedown, which is always reviewed by a person rather than an automated system.
Plans and billing
A free plan and paid plans billed monthly or yearly are offered, together with a prepaid credit balance that covers usage beyond the links included in a plan. Payments are processed by Stripe; card details are not stored by uhm.co. A workspace is billed in the currency shown at checkout, which is set at the first payment and generally cannot change while a credit balance is held.
Cancelling
A paid plan can be cancelled at any time from the workspace billing settings. Cancellation stops future billing and disables link creation beyond the free tier allowance. It does not delete existing links or their history. Refunds for the unused portion of a billing period are not currently offered beyond what applicable law requires.
Availability
uhm.co is operated with the aim of running reliably, but no specific uptime figure is committed to at this stage, and the service is provided "as is." Any change to this will be stated here.
Limitation of liability
To the extent applicable law allows, uhm.co and Halit Software Inc. are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the service. The specific limits and caps in this section remain a draft pending review by counsel. The principle is settled; the exact wording is not yet final.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia, Canada, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. The specific mechanics of resolving a dispute, including venue and arbitration versus court, are still being finalized with legal counsel and will be added here before they become relevant.
Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated as the product changes. The date at the top of this page is updated accordingly, and material changes are communicated directly rather than left to be noticed.
Questions
For questions about these terms, use the contact details on the legal requests page. To report a specific link, use the abuse report form instead. It reaches the right team faster.
